I thought 100% humidity is steam
just to confuse things further, I'll point out that actually, steam is liquid water being carried off by the water vapor of boiling!

Plus I have no idea what this has to do with the OP's post.
welcome to the internet!

actually, in over four decades online, I don't think I've ever found a worthwhile corner that didn't have a tendency to veer wildly off-topic. The best have a tendency to come full circle.

[flashback: teaching a summer class as a graduate student, one of my charges was intently leaning over and propping up his chin. I asked if he had a question, and he replied that, no, he was just dieing to see how I was going to tie where were were back to the topic at hand (monetary economics). Not "if", but "how".]

So I bought a used 2022 2.0 AWD a few months ago to take the place of my old Ranger.
It went on its first long trip over the weekend (NS to NB and back - just over 1000 km)

When I checked the results I found it a bit shocking (in a good way)!
Surely this can't be accurate?

Easy on acceleration. 100kph on adaptive cruise. Best I achieved. 5.5L/100km. 2022 2.0 lariat with tow package. Hwy 401/416 Toronto to Ottawa.

Wow! That’s great. On my ‘24 the best I’ve had, driving not like I normally do, “get outa my way “, 😉 was 6.8L/100kms. But it’s an EcoBoost, so that’s rare.

The best I can get on my 2024 Hybrid is 33 mpg (the average that the display states). Should I be disappointed?

This was towing a 2000lb trailer through northern Ontario last week. Lots of hills. Was also 28km’s past 0km to empty but not sure where 66 litres fit into a 62 liter tank. !!!

I look at these hybrid postings of their dashboards, and I’m kinda glad I got an Eco, because I would not want to learn how they work 🤣, besides, I’m too old to learn that new hybrid, EV, sh#T!

I usually don't really pay attention to fuel economy since there is not much you can do about it.

But my 2.0 will do 35mpg+ if I keep it at or under 65 mph (which I rarely do).

Last night, on a fresh tank of Union 76 91 octane I got 35.8 on a 50 mile highway trip to Home Depot.

I have a 2022 AWD Lariat, very happy with my mileage. Drove from BC to Florida a while back got 32.8MPG, 7.2L/100 over all average and Texas was the best at 38MPG, 6.2 L/100.

Just took a road trip with my 2024 hybrid. Highway MPG (all interstate 70-80 mph) was 39.1. Driving it on backroads visiting wineries for a day netted me 50.2 MPG. I am happy with both figures.

That looks about right. I have a '24 FX4 and on an early road trip (less than 5k miles at the time) from Tacoma WA to Post falls ID I got 33mpg there and a hair over 36mpg's on the way home..! Held it on cruise control at 70 mph as much as possible both way.
I was rather surprised too!

Hybrid vs EB compares for MPG - probably not overly useful. Though hwy only use would be likely close.

@Blackbelt - I would be curious what your actual time for the trip was?

Many post that show great highway mileage pics for the trip, also end up being actually much slower than thought when mathed out, so the avg speed isn't really as fast as recalled.

That is excellent back road though - AC on too?
