Sea foam and Lucas etc. fuel injector cleaners, do they work or snake oil?
Methinks that any additives might do more harm than good over the long haul.

My brother's Honda van was running ruff and he tried a can of Sea Foam and it smoothed right out.
It's a good fuel stabilizer/dryer as well.

From my experience on a different car (my integra when I had it), yes it worked. It sounded more smooth and I was monitoring mpg for years before and after using. There was significant improvement. It wasn't the case for the camry, I couldn't tell the sound difference either because it was already quiet. The maverick, it's turbo and port injection, planning to try it next year or two. We will see!

The 2.0 is a GDI engine, and any additives will only very marginally affect carbon buildup during valve overlap at low-speed and high-torque situations. Just like premium fuel, they are essentially useless. Use the correct top-tier fuels and 961-spec oils instead.
The 2.5 is port-injected and has extreme valve overlap to implement the Atkinson cycle. It can make use of additives if you have carbon buildup from using the wrong fuel or oil. Use the correct top-tier fuels and the required 962-spec oils instead.
