Been here a while but, I’m still lost when it comes to ForScan. I think I understand the concept. What do I need to view/run it on a iPhone 16?

The iOS/Android versions of Forscan can’t do any programming changes to the truck, so they are of very limited use.

To do anything you have ever heard about, you need a windows laptop and OBD2 datalink cable.

There are sticky threads in this subforum that explain all this in detail.

I'm about to brush up on it as I need to resize my tires and I might as well get rid of the double honk and the seatbelt notifications.

I disabled the startup chimes, too. I get in, put on my seat belt, turn the key, and drive. Never have to push a button, never have to hear a ding. I love it.

I think i may take the plunge too and try to make a few adjustments. Any advice on what OBD2 datalink cable you can suggest?

Thanks.

Check the Forscan website; they have recommendations and links there of ones known to be most compatible.

Thank you so much! And thank God it is legacy Windows (7 for me) compatible, I'm so tired of vendors using MS update policy to justify making the latest Windows version their minimum requirement. I keep a Win 7 legacy machine here, but have relied on Linux for several years now. I guess there is not much hope that any vendors of this kind of product would begin supporting that OS. I wonder what the native OS is for the factory ECU and Forscan development...
