It may be because yours has the add-on keypad and so the truck responds differently to that than the hardwired version. @Glen Baker LLC has a 2023 when it was still factory equipment.

HmmOn your second test, my truck actually UNLOCKS in addition to locking
lots of things would be a good idea. if the key is inside the vehicle is trivially easy to steal, but hey it's convenient.Definitely good idea to have a physical key hidden in case 12v battery gets low or something else?
I don't know that I understand.lots of things would be a good idea. if the key is inside the vehicle is trivially easy to steal, but hey it's convenient.![]()
in a lariat, which the OP has (and so do I), it's extremely possible to start the truck.I don't know that I understand.
If the key is actually under the back seat, other than the person who put it there. Who else would know?

it's supposed to be disabled if forced entry is detected, but I'm not sure I would bet my truck on an intruder being unable to drive away in a lariat with the key left in it.Push button start???
I've seen videos of the RF being picked up outside houses with a large loop.
My Chevy Volt and Buick both had push to start which I miss.
I also understand the safety concerns of push to start.
