It may be because yours has the add-on keypad and so the truck responds differently to that than the hardwired version. @Glen Baker LLC has a 2023 when it was still factory equipment.

I was wrong pushing the buttons twice does not sound the horn.

Probably a 24 thing or Lariat thing. My key fob is different than yours

Definitely good idea to have a physical key hidden in case 12v battery gets low or something else?
lots of things would be a good idea. if the key is inside the vehicle is trivially easy to steal, but hey it's convenient.

I don't know that I understand.
If the key is actually under the back seat, other than the person who put it there. Who else would know?

in a lariat, which the OP has (and so do I), it's extremely possible to start the truck.

Push button start???
I've seen videos of the RF being picked up outside houses with a large loop.
My Chevy Volt and Buick both had push to start which I miss.
I also understand the safety concerns of push to start.

Old school key. Kind of.

it's supposed to be disabled if forced entry is detected, but I'm not sure I would bet my truck on an intruder being unable to drive away in a lariat with the key left in it.
