Hi there and pardon my ignorance here but my only comparison in this regard is smartphones. I'm just wondering if updates and manufacturer flashes to the vehicle computer will in any way impact the ability to make your typical forscan mods to the Maverick.

In my case I've had the vehicle since Jan of 2023, have the obd cable and forscan license but I've never made any modifications. I'm interested in adding all the drive modes (mine is an FX4 XLT luxury package), traffic sign recognition, and the eco coach. Any other must have mods? I just want to make sure that vehicle updates, recalls, flashes, etc won't impact this process in any way vs when the vehicle was new.

All the other threads indicate you'll have resets to your mods.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

Yes I know the mods will reset after updates. But is the process to re-enable (or in my case for the first time) the mods the same after vehicle updates?

Ahhh - those other threads indicated redoing them not an issue.

If recalls/updates override the tweaks you've made in your truck, it's because the dealer reloaded the whole module and overwrote everything in a "start from scratch" process. They are coming from an as-built configuration, without regard to tweaks outside of that. So putting your mods back should be just repeating the original process in Forscan as you did the first time. Repeat as necessary.

If you haven't made any tweaks yet, it is highly unlikely that anything a dealer does will prevent future Forscan programming, or even the methodology, since the data locations aren't changing, only the data values.

Usually the software updates Ford puts out there are very specific and it will only effect one module. I got an update to the BCM from my dealer and it only effected changes that I made to my BCM with Forscan. I have Lasfit LED replacement bulbs for my Lariat and they operate normally but the dash indicator hyperflashes. I had to disable the outage indicator in the BCM again after the dealer software update to stop the indicator from flashing fast. Didn't effect any of the other changes I made.

2023 XLT FX4 AWD. I have all the drive mods and all the updates did not affect the truck.

I added the Adaptive cruise control (ACC) to my 22 XLT. Recently had the rear taillight recall done and there is a change in the body control module (BCM) for that recall. I had one change in the BCM for ACC that was reset to factory setting and I had to change it back for my ACC. But nothing in the recall prevented me from fixing my ACC.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Body Control Module (saved with Forscan) from a 24 XL Hybrid after Ford software updates were done but before any Forscan modifications?

Thanks,
Ray
