A few days before Christmas, I ordered a second bed cubby to install in the driver's side of my Maverick's bed. I thought it would be easiest to use Ford's parts website rather than call the dealership, etc.
Using Fordparts.com seems pretty seamless: you order and pay for the parts on the web page, then pick them up at your local dealership (no shipping charge). Fordparts.com says most in-stock orders shipped the next day.
After a week, the Fordparts.com website still showed my order as not yet shipped and "in processing" at my local dealer. I e-mailed my local dealer's parts manager to see if there was a problem. They told me they don't even see the actual Fordparts.com order or have anything to do with it until it shows up at their door. They said it would take as long as a month for my part to show up at the dealership.
That's quite a deal if that's the real story... Ford takes their sweet time with the order and tells the customer that it's the dealer who's still processing the order.
Anyone else had a similar experience with Fordparts.com?
