So has anyone joined the class action lawsuit regarding the battery recall? How many people have replaced the battery in their 2022/2023 Mavericks already? Has anyone had a dealership replace the battery free of charge after the 3 year warranty has passed?

Ford has already stated that it is a known problem and they are working on a fix, so any lawsuit is going to fail in court. Get over it. I'm now on battery #3 under the 3/36 warranty period, and the BMS fix is supposedly due out sometime in the next 40 days or so.

You're not talking about the same recall.

Hybrid is not a recall yet. (wondering if it ever will be since truck doesn't start with drained battery - if you can't drive, no driver safety issue recalls deal with)

EB is a recall.

Would it require having the old battery, to prove it did have the issue?
This is where you hope the dealership tech made some good notes on work order, like stating it failed battery test, which required buying a new one outside the warranty.
Sure seems like they should make good, since they used AGM before and after the FLA run showing which batteries they really intended to use.

Even the ecoboost battery recall is not yet complete, it's just an advanced advisory notice. They're likely gathering parts to do the replacements.

No one knows beyond that, but we can speculate what Ford might do.

When those parts are available, they might also offer a reimbursement, or Fordpass points, or some kind of consideration if you replaced the battery previously at your own cost. This might require a receipt and the reimbursement probably would be limited to the cost of a Motorcraft battery (so if you bought an expensive Optima, you wouldn't get that larger amount).

Since batteries have warranties, I'm in the habit of keeping receipts when I buy one.

A class action lawsuit over a $160 battery is not useful to anyone but the lawyers - you might get $20 when it's all said and done. But it's irrelevant anyway, as there is a recall.

I gotta see what the book time is for a battery replacement and send Ford my labor bill. 😂

But I have a feeling that they'll play dumb and not offer reimbursement to customers who bought their own batteries.

??? Huh? You're talking about some other battery than the 12V one?
They were talking about the EB recall, assumed since they have an EB.

You were describing the Hybrid 12V battery issue SSM, which is not a recall, and assuming you have Hybrid.

The mobile unit guys were required by the dealership to return the core [old battery] to the shop.
