Ford Premium Maintenance Coverage?

I had a question about Ford’s premium maintenance, I recently did a service on my maverick at 18k miles. I had bought Ford Premium Maintenance thinking that all my services would be covered up too 100k, (that’s what the finnace manger sold me on)(the only thing he said wasn’t covered was brake rotors) Now the service advisor states that my air and cabin filters will be due soon and hands me a nice $238 bill. I asked if it was included he stated multiple times it was not. I am not paying $200 to replace at most $50 of filters in 5-10 minutes. But i thought this would be included in the maintenance! Anybody else the the premium maintenance and run into this issue? Or Can elaborate a little more on the actual coverage?

What does your documentation state is covered by the plan? You have a copy of what you purchased, correct?

Tell the advisor that the Premium Maintenance package replaces the cabin filter at 20k miles and engine air filter at 30k miles...Ask him if he knows how to use the Scheduled Maintenance Tool? It's how he confirms WHAT is done at certain mileage...

Those add-on maintenance & warranty plans the finance people try to cram down your throat are often just not worth the money. Better to just put money aside for your future maintenance & repair items.

I took the ESP but, showed the finance guy the competitor pricing. Got the 10 year 75k plan for $1500 with $200 deductible. I’ll hit the 10 years before the mileage. Did the same for my Subie. The thing that scares the crap out of me with these starships is the electronics. You can’t “maintain” IC chips, boards, etc. And autos can be harsh environments I’ve had computers crap out before, so I decided to build my own. Probably overpriced ESP but, it’s one and done and I sleep easier at night.

I can’t find a document that explicitly states everything that’s covered by the maintenance plan, but according to the brochure it covers all scheduled maintenance. Also I did find a document from when I purchased the plan, it list three options, rental option, full synthetic oil option and a pick up and delivery option. When I had a conversation with the Service advisor, he stated that filter changes where an option box that was not checked but no such box exists. So either it was a new service advisor that was not sure what he was doing or he was hoping for quick upsell. I’ll defenitley follow up with the dealer and or service manager just for clarification on my next visit.

The finance guy will tell you anything, and sometimes charge you for things you did not even discuss. Mine did, I wound up getting refunds but it took months to get them.

when i purchased my Maverick. Last step was with the finance guy he said i found a different lender and the first name on the documents is wrong he printed new ones and trashed the originals. frank
