Yeah, I still don't get it.I purchased a maintenance plan. It added about 2k to the total price, it’s a 5year 100k mile plan that covers all maintenance items, besides tires. I went with the 5k mile oil change interval. With all the oil changes and every maintenance interval item included I felt it was worth it.
remember this is a negotiable item. If your thinking about a extended warranty, or a service plan. Go in to finance with hard numbers. Print a quote from flood ford and know what your willing to pay.
So I'm educatedly guessing you either paid that $2k in cash up front, or you financed it into a "higher than zero" APR you'll continue to pay on monthly for the life of the loan, or pay it separately monthly, to add this contract into the purchase of your Mav.
Would that be accurate?
If so, you could've simply saved the cash and just taken the car to the dealership whenever these wear items (oil, tire rotation, air filter, etc) were due to be changed, or of course simply done it yourself if so equipped.
I typically do all my own maintenance, but dead of winter last year I had my dealer rotate tires, do oil/filter, and change cabin air filter on my C-Max, and it cost $90.
I could do that 22 more times with that $2k, not to mention saving the loan interest costs, keeping most of it in my pocket as I go, and draining my wallet slowly.
