Ford pass app - start activating vehicle while in shipment

I have the same delivery time frame of 4/9 to 4/15 and for the first time last night the same thing happened to on my Fordpass App. Hopefully these are not coincidences but rather good omens for a soon delivered Maverick to my dealership. FYI: I;m in Florida.

I set my truck up in the App while it was in transit and saw the same screen about activation. When I finally picked it up from the dealer on Friday, after 5 weeks in transit, the salesman told me everything was activated. He was surprised that when he went to check the car after it was unloaded from the truck he was greeted with my name in the cars system.

I am having troulble syncing aps, I blamed it on my phone but maybe that is the source of my issues.

Someone with access to the screen had to have touched the 'accept' or 'approve' button to allow activation. Someone must have access to the physical control screen or the activation should fail. If that is not the case, then anyone with a bit of knowledge can activate the vehicle, remotely.

where in eastern us are you located ? my truck was built 3/4 . dealer wont share rail info and will not give an estimated date . its being shipped to New Hampshire . maybe there on the same path .

I ordered from Chapman Ford in Horsham, PA. Mine was built on 3/13 and shipped 3/15 so hopefully you're truck comes sooner than mine!

Bummer, truck is still at the ramp. But the ETA didn't get pushed back any further from 4/1 at least

I did the same, and someone, somewhere, hit the right button in the cab, and bingo, it was mine!

beginning yesterday, the app would try and activate when i hit the button. Before then it was just an error.

Not sure what it means. Im in Canada. Delivery date is supposed to be this week.

Interesting. I tried activating my Fordpass link as soon as it became available when mine shipped. Alas no luck getting someone to accept so it's been sitting at 'Activation Pending'. But this morning the app notified me:

Sorry, 2022 Maverick's activation process was denied by the primary user and you do not have access to its FordPass Features. If you believe this was an error, please re-initialize authorization process to gain access to the vehicle.

I'm a few days past my delivery window so maybe it's a sign it made it to the rail unload for someone to deny linking. Or, on reflection, the authorization may have just timed out after 30 days.

tracker now shows my truck is in final preparation. Must have shown up at the dealer sometime yesterday. Hoping to see if tomorrow .

Congrats. My truck has been in Spence MA for the past 5 days waiting a car carrier to bring it to Rochester.
