Finding out my hybrid xlt is on the list is more troubling than most feel it is. I step out in faith & order a vehicle sight unseen. wait 9 months to see it. Now I have 2700 miles of blissful driving only to now be told, everything you drive your new vehicle might throw a rod through the oil pan, or it may not run due to substandard solder joints etc. Trace the bad cranks & put a new engine in, or at least put on paper Ford will replace any 2.5 hybrid engine with a crankshaft issue for a period of 10 years , or 125k miles. It makes me sick to own a new vehicle that I love yet can't trust. Ford's fix doesn't offer confidence either. I'll be in a conversation with my dealer about ordering a my 23 mav if my trade will be fair. Some foreman knew these cranks were out of spec & said ship em anyway.

Lol, ok. You're a regular Smokey Yunick.

I have a video of a Maverick hybrid rattling & shaking. Looks like main bearings out. So yes there is.

I think you are over exaggerating the chance of an issue. I had 6 flawless years with my Fusion Hybrid, which had a similar engine.

You think ford is drilling holes in Maverick under covers for fun? Run your vin at nths & if yours is included tell me it's all make believe.
No, I don't think that they are drilling holes for fun. Not sure why you would reach that conclusion.

Yes, my truck is part of the recall. But the recall isn't for a crankshaft--it's to address components that could increase the odds of an engine fire should fluids leak. What we don't know is whether Ford has determined that a leak is likely (due to some defect with the engine), or whether they have determined that even a "normal" engine leak could be extra-dangerous due to the design of the engine compartment.

You should sell your Mav and find that perfect car that never has a recall, or problem, or never needs to go back to the dealer for any reason. We are driving around computers with wheels now, there will always be issues and updates and recalls. If you can't handle the stress of having a car that may or may not have an issue one day, walk.

I would like to know the make and model unicorn the OP purchases. The 3/36, 5/60,000 and 8/100,000 warranties will not make me sick to own a Maverick I will love and trust.

I haven't bought a non Ford/Mercury vehicle since 1999. I also sleep well at night knowing my co-signed buyer's order (from LM of course) means I'll pay MSRP with no ADM's.

Unicorn indeed. Nothing is perfect so get over it and love your life. If he’s one of those people who just loves to complain and look at the world like it’s out to get him, I hope he joins a different forum lol

I haven't worried about the cable so much. But a crankshaft machine problem leads to rod. or main bearing failure. Rod pokes hole in block or pan oil causes fire. I've seen a pic of a toasted one. These issues aren't like my glovebox is hard to open stuff.

Link?

And you're sure that the "rattling & shaking" is caused by the same crankshaft issue that's causing issues with Escapes?
