Read the US copyright laws. The person (people) that wrote it own it. Copyright Infringement penalties apply to anyone who hands it out for free or charge without the writer's permission. It costs a lot of money to produce a manual, book or even a pamphlet.

(Except AI companies, who have ingested pretty much all copyrighted content on the planet to feed their model training without asking for permission or paying any "rights holder" for the privilege.) (Except if you live in another country where the long arm of the law doesn't reach) etc etc etc. Copyright is a bad joke that is applied and played only on the poor, just like many laws these days. They've trained the obedient masses that sharing is stealing - which is why ebooks that libraries buy are forced to "wear out" too after a few loans so they have to re-buy the same digital file over and over.

I really like and enjoy this site and wish it a long existence. I believe the copyright rule applies to this website. As an example, in the early 2000s, Napster provided a web site for file sharing. I don't agree with that and this is nothing new. Before the internet in the 1970's and 1980's if we wanted the repair manual we had to purchase the physical book from Ford. There were also aftermarket repair manuals that one could purchase instead. Not everything is intended to be free.

You are correct....Everything created by a large business is intended to create profit, not convenience.

I have download copy of the 2022 Hybrid that I paid for.

It's over 10,000 pages and over 500 MB.

I will not share copies.
I will look up information for you on a case by case basis.

There's no law I know of preventing me from sharing "excerpts" for educational purposes. Teachers used to be able to copy 10% of any work for educational purposes. I think that still holds true.

In 1965 I paid $26 for a factory shop manual for my ‘65 British Ford Cortina GT - trust me if you had a Cortina GT you needed a shop manual. Thats $266 in today’s money. Shipping from England was extra.
