The added 6lbs of the Air Design ornamental hood “scoop” affects my hood release mechanism…hood will release with one hardy pull of the latch release - not the usual two regular pulls.

I’ve yet to glue/tape mine on & I’m wondering if any folks using the Air Design hood scoop have had any issues with their hood release mechanism?

It is a Ford Accessory sold on Ford.com - not an aftermarket.

Here is mine unpainted. Will be body color with a black center stripe when installed…

You're the first to report this issue.
I've never heard about it!

Zero issues with mine. And I had mine painted to body match.

One pull doing the primary and secondary latch has to be something wrong with the latch itself.
I‘d take it to the dealer.

You can also maybe try this:
With the hood open, use a screw driver to simulate the hood closing the latch. Then have someone pull the handle while you watch the latch.

With the paper weight, left off. How does your hood open???

Easy - pull, or Hard??
