Air design hood scoop dimensions?

Afternoon fellow owners.

I need some very specific help with dimensions from anyone with an air design hood scoop installed please. I’m trying to cover this nasty dent that the pdr guys don’t think they can fix correctly.

I need to know how far the scoop comes forward on the hood so I can know for sure before I pop some money on this scoop to hide my dent. I’m 96.5% sure it will cover it but ford and air design are no help. Thanks

Judging from these photos, you should be fine by ordering the Ford part. That looks like a foot in front of where your dent is.

Are you planning to cut out the section of your hood under the scoop or is it just to cover the dent? I was wondering if they make a gasket or trim piece once you plasma cut or saws-all the cut out on the hood to get some air flow?

all I want to do is cover the dent. Pdr guys are not confident in being able to fix it. I don’t wanna go to a body shop. 24 with 3000 miles and I just can’t have the eyesore.

I would say there would not be a reason to cut the hood and the scoop to make it functional. You’d have to pipe it into the intake. I would use a wheeled cutter to make the cut in the hood. Sawzall would make more mess and would dent up the hood just using it.

shooting from the hip, but with the number of mavericks that manage to get rear-ended, you might have a good shot at finding a near-perfect hood . . .

I think you need a new PDR guy. I had more hail damage than you have, and when I picked it up it was better than new.
