UPDATE: I went ahead and ordered the Bak X4s from @Realtruck. I went with it over the Sentry CT for the extra security from the feature where each slat has its own locking device all the way down the bed. Thanks for all the help!

ORIGINAL QUESTION:
Does the new Ford hard rollup come with the felt that continually peels off or no? I am seeing conflicting info. I want to get it from Ford so I can get the reward points and I am considering the only $60 dealer install. But if it still comes with the felt then I will look elsewhere.

While I don't know an answer to your question, I have a suggestion.

Reach out to @Realtruck here on the forums. They offer a discount to forum members and it is very possible their hard roll-ups are lower cost, even factoring the points from rewards.

I ordered my 2024 with the hard roll up and it doesn't have that felt that the previous versions did. I'm happy with it and have had no issues yet. It was pricey, though.

I will find out Friday. My Ford Dealer is replacing mine since the felt does not stay on. Mine was ordered with the truck from the factory. I am hoping for the new ones without the felt that others have received. I'll see.

Mine was ordered separately back in 2022 and the felt all peeled off. Neither ford or the manufacturer would fix it or replace it. I believe they have been phased out for ones with a plastic cover on the edges. I’d hesitate still in ordering one especially if you are in a high temp area. As mine had seals peeling off as well from one NC summer.

Looking at this further... I am thinking maybe the X4S/Ford offering is better for me than the Sentry CT because of the bed sides attaching at each slat on the X4S instead of just a middle latch with the CT. I know nothing is 100% thief proof, but for my regular cargo (guitars/amps/etc), the more resistant the better.

I have a 2023 and it had the Ford roll up with felt. When the felt started falling off I took it to the dealership and they replaced it under warranty with the newer version with the plastic edges. Much better.

I had the dealership 90 miles away receive the Ford branded hard roll up. They installed it and it doesn’t have any felt. No water gets into the bed unless you spray between the bed and tailgate

This is what my 2024 hard cover came with. No felt. Softer plastic pieces. It appears well designed now, in my opinion.

That looks just like the Bak X2 model. Now I'm glad I went with the X4s. But the current 25% off plus reward points makes the Ford offering mighty attractive!

I just got the ford one a little over a month ago. There is no felt. I installed it myself.
