Your statement about not having a choice is the whole problem! If people would stop paying markups, there would be no markups, plain and simple. So wait a year to get one for MSRP, if you don't want to wait a year for a new truck, buy something besides a Ford.

aside from the 4 month waiting that I fully knew about going into the process, this (Ford) has been the smoothest, easiest and still the cheapest new car purchase I have ever made so im not sure what you're talking about!
Price means nothing if Ford does not produce a vehicle.

To the OP, how does someone in the USA go 60 years and not understand Capitalism supply and demand. Five years ago, you drove a new car off a lot and was already upside down by 10-20%. People long for the horse trade get better than MSRP was BS. The dealer and manufacturer made money and the consumers took a hit. Car manufactures keep the dealerships to be the middleman for recalls, repairs and transfer vehicles to another lot that aren't selling.

Markups on a custom orders are few and far between. Its just a big deal when it happens. I don't like it but its fair game to me after the orderer bails on it.

The title of this thread is false. It's not Ford's fault customers are impulse buying vehicles with ADM's. Various dealer's have been and will continue to be crooked so get over the fact uninformed customers get fleeced.

I will use Long McArthur as the model dealership. @fordvideoguy was clear that his and any other dealer who furnishes a customer a co-signed buyers order has a contract in place to provide a vehicle at a contractually agreed upon price. Anything less than that is fool's gold. LM ships with the first 1k in costs for free. You can electronically order and send documentation to and from them to get your order in the ROVP. The first time I'll meet an LM employee is the day I drive my truck home. It's not the first time I've purchased a vehicle without stepping into the dealership until delivery day.

Establishing a rapport like I do with my local Ford dealer's is essential for stock orders purchased with an X plan like my son's Escape last November. Ditto, when I need to bring in his Escape, Mrs. Vols 18' Edge or my 22' Maverick for recall and warranty work.

An informed MTC poster, Ford enthusiast and vehicle owner makes Ford vehicle purchasing impossibly easy.

There's no denying that delays and shortages are causing difficulty for many buyers. Some people say that's just the way the world is right now. Some people want to find someone to blame. If you read enough posts here you'll find one blaming almost anyone you can think of.

Like most, I got hit with delay after delay. Even after my truck was "built" it still ended up in the chip holding lot for a few weeks. I didn't like it, but that's the way it goes.

But I have to say the purchasing process was as easy as it gets. I used the online tools to figure out what I wanted. I went to the dealer and ordered exactly that. The dealer gave me a signed contract and did his best -- under the circumstances -- to keep me informed. When the time came to take delivery and finalize the transaction it was simple and painless.

My guess is that when the supply chain problems get worked out (or at least back to normal problems) this will be the easiest vehicle purchase process possible.

I had no problems.
Same. For all the shit I took from forum members for buying at Gary Yeoman Ford, the transaction itself was seamless with the exception of them wanting to hose me on the trade. For that part of the buying process, I simply took my car to the elsewhere of the sales world, made my money it, and came back to purchase my Maverick. I have no issues with my salesmen. It's the upper management.

Don't blame Ford. They're victims of the planed, orchestrated chaos inflicted on our supply chains and social fabric over the last 2 years.

These are the results that should have been predictable to anyone with 2 brain cells. Unfortunately the corporate media establishment cheerleaded our reckless policies and shamed anyone who dared question, "is what we're doing really a good idea and is it really helping?" (We're finding out the answer to both those questions is 'NO')

I have a question. Are companies, American companies in particular looking for solutions to parts/chip shortages? Or are they just waiting out the delay from original suppliers so it happens again?

Recently I was at an equipment conference (leasing industry) and providing chips for cars is lower on the food chain. Chips are being consumed by more expensive equipment (example farming) that can absorb the cost and will pay more.

Im wide awake . Is anyone really going to trust a dealership that just screwed them for an extra 10K?
Great point KL1001,You would think Ford would say enough,I know Ford has nothing to do with the dealership but the little blue oval on the front represents them, which equals trust and return customers 👍

I bought my Lariat Luxury in Iowa. It did take months to get in queue but there was a lot of communication from Ford and the dealer. I went to collect it last month. The dealer gave it to me at MRSP and took a discount off from Ford. Gave me the free FITS accessories packages without asking. III do not see where Ford or the dealer could have done any better.
