FYI - when you go to finance they will try to sell you an extended warranty. I am not going to comment on wether you should or should not buy a plan. However like everything else let the buyer be aware that this is the way the dealer makes money and there is an alternative whereby you will get the same plan from Ford directly at a lower price. Before you go to the dealer call Ford Protect directly and get a quote The number is 877-794-6434 and they even finance the plan separately from your auto finance if you want.

Can confirm. My dealer wanted $2,400 for the warranty when the exact same plan can be had for under $1,000 on the above listed websites.

Not to mention you can purchase an extended warranty from Ford at any point up until your 36 month bumper to bumper warranty expires!

Why would you bother buying it at the time of vehicle purchase when you have three full years of coverage included? Drive the truck for a couple years. See how reliable it is. Decide whether you're going to keep it past the three-year warranty period and then -- with the benefit of two-plus years experience owning the vehicle -- decide whether to purchase an extended warranty.

Also, if you just wait 5 minutes your phone will ring letting you know your car warranty is about to expire. You could just press 1 and talk to them about extending what you didn't buy from Ford.

They just called. I purchased my extended warranty without having my Maverick, how thoughtful.

I didn't get it when I picked up my Maverick. Finance guy told me that if I decide to get it down the road to majestic sure it's FORD PROTECT. What's the difference between this and the ESP?

None - same thing now calling Ford ESP - Ford Protect. One advantage in having the ESP Plan while still under the 3/36 Basic Warranty period is that if your vehicle is kept overnight (or longer) for repairs you will be provided a rental vehicle.
