I can only imagine quality control on a 20k Maverick if they are finding quality issues on a 60k Bronco. Hopefully it'll be all cosmetic and not mechanical. At least it'll be easier to digest since we come to expect the quality would equal the price point.

A lot of people are concern about the Mavericks being built in Mexico but even the might Broncos built in the US of A have quality issues as well.

Do you feel lucky?
Most new cars are fine. But a few have something wrong.
I test drove a new bronco. I did not see anything wrong with the one I drove. It was a demo they can't sell for 6 months or something and need to have a minimum number of miles on it. I don't remember exactly the numbers the salesperson said I was very distracted with looking at the new Bronco.
I do remember being told there was no way I could get a Bronco or a Maverick till after December. With so many people on the waiting list it is not a surprise.

I'm waiting to see if they come out with an AWD hybrid, but that also lets me wait to see if they have production issues that need worked out. My Transit Connect was a first year model and had multiple issues with the folding middle seats. You'd fold them down and they would just refuse to go back up. To be fair, I think most vehicles are given more thought than the passenger version of the Transit Connect, but still I will wait a bit. ha

The Bronco has a terrible roof problem. The roof supplier has ruined everything. Since the Maverick doesn’t have a removable top made by Webasto, there is a much lower chance of issues.

I'm more talking about issues that can potentially be overlooked trying to meet the deadline.

My priorities are first and foremost the hybrid and its mpg estimate. I'm hoping that is a conservative estimate and that Ford goes over that.

The Ford Maverick is being built by newly hired trainees using newly designed (or re-designed) components produced at (and transported from) multiple factories and using parts from newly established surrounding part suppliers in a recently retooled Mexican factory ... If that makes you uncomfortable - skip the Maverick.

I think the Bronco is an infinitely more complicated car to build, with just as many things that can go wrong with it. I'm hoping that the Maverick being a much more straight forward build, it will have less quality issues. But one can only hope. That is a beautiful Bronco though

You are probably correct. There's not a whole a lot of new tech on the Maverick for them to mess up. I just can't wait for a new contents though. I'm just worried that Ford will realize that they priced the Maverick so low that they won't make profit and have to cut more corners before release.

Hopefully the early adopters don't grt screwed

Bronco is

More trims
More interior colors
More technology
More roof options
More body configuration options
One more transmission choice

And the biggest issue is with their hardtop supplier. Ford makes the entire body of the Maverick, including the non-removable roof, so I don't think that issue will be there

The Bronco Sport has had 3 recalls and has widespread issues with the paint being too soft and easily getting damaged.

Ford has never been good at fit and finish. I don't expect the Maverick to be any better, considering it's a cheap vehicle built by many inexperienced workers who were hired for the manufacturing ramp up.

The S550 Mustang 2015-2021 especially the 2015-2017’s had many panel misalignments. The paint is thin and chips fairly easy. Parts of the dash and other interior panels that rattled. The cooling function of the ventilated seats barely worked. Lots of people had a/c failures. My 2015 Mustang GT had multiple clutch failures. The MT82 transmission in mine was junk. When I got my 2018 Mustang GT I went with the A10 auto which has been fine with no problems so far at 29K miles. The generation 3 coyote engine (2018+) some have the bbq tick or typewriter tick or rattle. No vehicle is perfect. Some are better than others.

Nice passive generalization there. I have had many Ford vehicles with two presently in the stable. None have had any fit or finish issues. None.

I don't know if this is a thing but maybe car companies, in this case Ford, would manufacture a few thousands of the Mavericks for early adopters with premium parts and tip top quality service then maybe slowly ease up quality as they sell more of these in the future. I mean the first owners would be basically advertising the trucks for free! Can't be too many complains right away.

I've purchased two new F150s. 2000 (V6) and 2013. Each had one minor recall. Otherwise perfect.

I'm hoping my new XL Mav's simplicity = less to go wrong. At $25K I expect rattles.

It will likely be perfect and the price will creep up as sales go through the stratosphere.
