Hi,

Does some of you use magnetic light on the Maverick instead of the diode light kit ? If yes, can you show me where do you mount them on the cab ?

Thanks

Not an answer to your question exactly...But I have done a LOT of research on setting up my new Maverick for flat towing. Hope it is here in a week or so! Anyway, I have been flat towing for about 9 years now. Ford Cmax and Jeep Wrangler.
Both of those I did NOT want to cut into the factory wiring to add tow lighting. I know there are those that have done that with no problems. But I also know of some that had problems.
So, this time I looked into every magnetic or portable light system on the market. Some seem to be functionally ok. BUT...none will tow all day without needing recharged. I would not want those that are wired as that is too much hassle and chance of damaging paint on towed vehicle. There is no real good place to magnetically attach these on a Maverick. Technically putting them on the roof would be visible...but I think in some states that may not be legal as there is around 5' of vehicle behind the lights.
So, for the third vehicle in a row, I am going to install the lights that you run a wire from the front electrical plug in from coach to the tail light assemblies. I open a hole into the headlight housing and mount the auxiliary bulb socket. Seal that up good and done. Never had to touch them after installing them. In the long run it is less work than chasing the portable units. There is one problem with doing this on the typical installation, and that is that the signal lights do not work when the brake lights are on. I am considering making a change in the wiring to fix that on the Maverick.

thanks for the reply.

For us, 99% of the time I will have a bike rack behind the Maverick and those bike rack block both the licence plate and tail light. So I kind of have no choice to install light on the rack itself ( and on the bike cover when raining ). I bought wired light on amazon for that and will try to run the cable up to the MH in such a way it won't damage too much the paint.

I also bought regular magnetic light when I don't have the bike rack.

I am thinking of builder some kind of light bar that attach to the hitch

Thanks

Quick follow up. Here is a picture of my custom light bar + licence plate that I will be strapping on the bike rack.
