I ran a 12v always on source with an add a tap and ground from the fuse panel under the passenger foot well to power the Patriot 2. I’ve also installed a switch on the rv power to the RVi to avoid any drain unless in use. RVi directly to battery without using the positive or negative posts under the hood. My first battery quit and shut down the Mav after a tow similar to yours. Had to flat bed to dealer. Paid $400+ for diagnostic and new battery. Dealer denied warranty claiming it was the Rvi. Since changing battery never had problem. Battery is culprit but good luck in getting your dealer to admit it. Good luck.

We just got out maverick this month. We use the blue ox to tow, had it installed at truck accessories place in Carson city that does installs for tow bars that the Ford dealer down the street sends them. We had a charge line and all installed and use the patriot 2 brake system. (That's what we already used towing our ford edge)After about 90 minutes the brake losses power and at about 2 hours of towing the maverick is completely dead. We have had to jump it. We follow the directions exactly to put it in tow mode. Nothing helps. Even tried not using the brake system and the maverick still was chunkier dead within 2 hours behind the motorhome. Any help out there?
This is the exact system and problem I have been struggling with all summer. I believe I have isolated the problem to the 12v outlet in the truck that I plug the patriot into. It apparently goes dead 30 minutes after turning the car off leaving the brake system without power.

You need to plug the Patriot into a dedicated 12v outlet like i did. I've now towed about 1,750 miles w/no issues at all after replacing the non-warrantied defective 12v battery.

That is the plan.

Our issues is fine after installing a dedicated power port. AND selecting the H for hybrid tow on our Patriot in the set up.
