Another issue is that the 12v port in the maverick goes dead after about 30”. It is necessary to run a dedicated 12v port that will remain live in the pickup for the patriot brake. I fought this issue most of the summer before we were able to resolve it. Ford dealer was NO help at all.

It does not accumulate mileage while flat towing.

I run the exact setup with the same issue. The 12v port in the maverick goes dead after about 30” causing the braking system to alert that the vehicle battery is dead. The answer for us was to install a dedicated 12v port that is live all the time. No issues since!

One thing to keep in mind is that the 12v port in the maverick goes to sleep shortly after shutting off the truck. If the supplemental brake unit in the toad requires a 12v port you will need to wire in a live dedicated port for it.

2023 Maverick Lariat hybrid here. Took delivery in June of 2023. Currently has just over 5000 miles and have absolutely no issues with my truck. Very happy with it.

It is not hot all the time. We had to install a dedicated 12v port for our brake system in the toad vehicle.

Just got back from a 110 mile trial run after installing a 12v port that is wired live as opposed to the one in the maverick that goes to sleep after a short period of time. All worked well! Been a miserable time trying to isolate the problem.

We got ours in and installed within 2 weeks.
