Approaching my initial oil change on my new 25 Mav 2.0 EB and I'm wondering what filter beside the Motorcraft FL-2127 has anyone used or recommends? It's a little dicey crossing them. I know the threads are 22x1.5 vs 3/4x16 (on the previous 910-S). I'm perfectly fine with going the Motorcraft route, but if there are other readily available options, perhaps with better filtering capabilities, cheaper, please enlighten me! Looks as tho the Fram Ultra XG12060 (or their similar filters in that size) would fit? I see some people mention the FL-500S. Larger but same thread size?

Thanks guys, I look forward to positive feedback!

Matt
Can’t beat the Ford Motorcraft oil filter quality. They are made by Purolator which along with WIX are made by Mann-Hummel. Cut them open and you will see the top notch features they all share.

Wow! Two contradictory responses on one filter just one after the other! I’m so confused!!! 😩

You want contradictions?

How about - how many miles/months can an oil filter work effectively? ;)

I would trust either of these over a current-day Motorcraft. Quality control on Motorcraft filters unfortunately has slipped since Mann-Hummel purchased Purolator, the manufacturer of Motorcraft filters.
Motorcraft Filters are made all over the world - but the Maverick Hybrid & EB oil filters have been made in the USA (Louisiana) for years. I’m sure they have their own Quality Control systems firmly in place!

I usually run Amsoil oil/filters on all my vehicles (autos and motorcycles). Amsoil's filter for the '25 looks like it's:

There's plenty of evidence on BITOG and YouTube for the excess glue issue if you care to investigate.

Glue is a critical part of oil filter manufacturing - much better to have ā€œexcessā€ than a deficiency.

Although using more glue will increase the costs…

No, you are giving out a lot of misinformation. Those are the latest 2 910 filters posted on bob is the oil guy. Neither one of them show access glue. So there's\nNot plenty of images of that. The manufacture is changed if you look at them. These are both from the dealer. So they're the newest stock , even the dates were posted. To each his own
I didn't give you opinion or conjecture.I gave you pictures.

Looks like a mighty fine filter.

Although the ā€œFord Specā€ calls for an acceptable ā€œCā€ grade for aftermarket replacements - the Motorcraft is an ā€œAā€ :)

Amsoil an ā€œA+ā€?

I didn't give any opinion or conjecture either, so cool your jets and your accusations. What I said was from direct personal experience of the product from just over a year ago, cut apart and inspected as I already mentioned, not opinion or conjecture. I can take pictures of those filters as well if you'd like to see them. I wasn't aware that the manufacturer had recently changed, but had you simply explained that in your original post this could have been a shorter, more cordial conversation. You gave one picture before I commented, but that single picture didn't really tell the whole story by itself did it? Thanks for finally providing some detail to go on.

I'm glad they've improved. Who is manufacturing them now, and where are they made?

I was just giving you information. You chose not to investigate as you would say. Trust me, I can be argumentative.I am an attorney. I choose not to be.I'm considering the source. So to answer your questions just investigate. Have a great night.

I changed the oil on my Lobo before storing it for the winter.
It had a FoMoCo oil filter.
I installed a Motorcraft FL2127.
I wonder if there are any differences between the two?
