First time in the snow....

Here in Arkansas we don't usually get as much snow as we did the last couple of days. I bought my trucklet in June and was itching to see how it would do in the snow. I was truly impressed. It's a '24 AWD and performed flawlessly. I had a little bit of slow down coming up our driveway way but I was literally plowing snow with the front end lol. I had it in Slippery mode but I thought I read somewhere else that a different mode was actually better but I can't remember what it was.

OP, I used to fly C-130s out of Little Rock, zipping through the valleys near you every day. That's a lot of snow for Arkansas, even NW Arkansas. What a beautiful area northern Arkansas is. I miss it.

I lived just north of Little Rock for 7 years. In that time I saw exactly one day when it got wintry, and that was an ice storm. Brought the state to its knees. That was back in the mid 1990s I think. I had to drive 20 miles home on wide summer tires on my 93 RWD RX7. That was an adventure. Thank the Heavens Above that I was a northerner who knew how to drive on ice and snow.

Yes it's a beautiful state. I'm just outside of Fort Smith. Born and raised in Montana so I'm definitely not stranger to the white stuff lol

Chad, I heard y'all got 14" of snow down there in Mena. Up here in NWA, we only got ~6" Unusual for us to get less snow than down south of here.

I'm in Fort Smith and we got about 9"

We got maybe half of that snow here, but it was also a lot, for us. Ours was not that fluffy.

I tooled around in slippery mode a bit, too. No drama or complaints at all, but the OE Pirelli Scorpions are probably the weak point. I hope to wear them out by next winter so I can upgrade.

Couldn't resist taking my still-scarred (deer contact about a month ago) Maverick out in the snow today. 4-5 inches, not bad. Passed every test, up and down hills. Stopping, steering, starting. Just put it in slippery mode and drove. As we don't get a lot of snow here in SE Tennessee, there were quite a few people out playing and getting a little wild in their jeeps and trucks (and 4-wheelers too) so I didn't stay out too long.

The worst obstacle was my driveway. Turned in and the entire truck started sliding to one side as I eased into the throttle. Both axles which means both ends were helping. I backed down into the street and took a straight tac with a little momentum and up the hill it went. My driveway is very steep, the final exam of today's drive.

The Perellis did well, though after I move back to the north, I'll probably be wanting to get hold of some 3-peak tires that can handle the snow a little better. These were not terrible, and it should be noted that this was that heavy snow, the kind that is wet. So traction was a little weak, but not bad. Not bad at all.

2.0 Lariat with FX4. Forgot to turn TC off but I can do that next time.

Your part about the driveway was identical to my drive up to the house lol. Had to back out into the street and get a straight shot. It would have made a cool video with the snow rooster tailiing up from the tires.

It was interesting, when I turned into the drive, all 4 wheels lost traction and went sideways. But after I backed into the road and got rolling about 10 mph (if that), it went up the drive straight as an arrow. Just getting rolling a little bit really helped.
