First Edition Complaint (Anyone else agree?)

I ordered one but wish they had also had the door handles black and gas cap. I see the XLT has black door handles. I just feel it would have completed the look. Black hood, black roof, black skull caps, maybe it's just me.

I am confused by your comments... The roof is black, the Mirrors are in black and the graphics are black.. and why would you want the gas hatch/door to be black?!?!? BTW mine ordered will be Spark Red

I think it completes the looks. Black door handles and gas cap would make it look better to me. Or at least having the black door handles. Just my opinion, and one in the minority it looks.

I can agree with the door handles... being black, would have been a nice touch.

I was going to order it in the red but was told upfront about the production delays with them so went area 51 instead. Since area 51 is in the middle of the desert that made sense to me with the "desert brown" interior too, haha..

So many rumors about the features desired and the production hold up... I went with my gut feel here, acting like Mr. Ford Marketing man... 1. What vehicles do I want produced ASAP that will "catch the eyes" of the General Public? 2. We're producing a First Edition, what is sensible about delaying production to get THAT version out and in the public view? 3. It is the most profitable of all... why burn the bridge of those that are investing in US (Ford) at this level of premium profits? 4. Why produce anything less profitable quickly and get it to market without any TRUE "Splash" impression? Which is redundant commentary! LOL

Well the rapid red was known to be delayed from the start. Along with splashguards and a few other things. I was going to get them also but dropped them to try and get the truck faster. Now I'll wait however long it takes. Just means I can spend the money on the payment another way or save it.

I almost made the same build as you. I decided at the end I didn't like the black roof. Not knowing if it was painted or a stick on, I decided against it and didn't order the FE package.

I agree with you I'd like to have black there and likely will do something with them myself after I get it.

I ordered a First Edition and glad the door handles aren't black. Black door handles would remind me of cheaper models with non body colored door handles. Additionally, as the most touched exterior part, they would always have fingers prints and smudges, as everything shows on shiny black.

I think the roof, hood and side decals, and mirror caps are enough black on the truck. I wouldn't hate if the handles were black too, especially on the Carbonized Grey I ordered, but I think body-colored will look better.

Black door handles just makes it look cheaper. I like the roof, mirrors and graphics black.

You could always buy the black handles and change them out. That’s what the guys do over on the other truck forum I’m on do. They switch from chrome to color matched ones.

I agree blacked out would of been nice. I ordered a carbonized grey/gray first edition.
