Fender side vents question

So I don't have the blackout package, but I have a black Maverick. I posted this question on a group in FB...but has anybody tried these fender side vents?

These only cover the existing vents. I am looking for gloss black replacement. Just wondering how these look.

Can't answer your question, unless you really want my subjective opinion on how I think they will look...

But to me, I think putting gloss black there is a slippery slope. Right now it kindof matches most of the other black exterior plastic. Are you going to get "glossy press-on nails" for that side mirror arm, and the trim on the top of the tailgate, and the rocker panel etc.?

Thirty years ago my F-150 was black, so I understand the struggle with semi-black or faded trim. I would try putting Cerakote on all of it to make it look new and keep it shiny before I'd start sticking appliques on. Good luck either way.

Yeah, personal taste, I guess, but I'm not real hot on the gloss black vents, pretty much for the same reason noted above . My Mav is black and I have decided to leave the small touch of chrome there is on it and everything else added is flat black. I've found the flat makes a really nice contrast against the gloss black (and ceramic coated) body paint. BUT as you can see from the pix posted here on MTC, the things are pretty much blank canvases and individuality is the name of the game.

Thanks for your opinion bro. I am probably going to go with the tufskin inlays. I was just curious about these.

Did not realize Tuffskins made inlays. Too late for me because I already installed the AirDesign functional side vents on my Velocity Blue.

Although if I had a black Maverick - I would go with shiny chrome bits. Side vents, door handles, mirror cap, wheels, etc.
