Was this a Monday OR Friday build??
(an old saying about poor quality for things built on a Monday/Friday).
Mine was a "Monday Build", I must have lucked-out....

My first thought for an explanation would be that anyone who did notice it might assume it was ordered that way... custom, and just shrug their shoulders. 😄

There is a guy in this site that took the Lariat seat covers off and did a full leather interior from Katzkins. I wonder if he saved those skins and would donate them? I've ordered an XLT with bap because I hate the other option and will save the interior when I have Katzkins do a custom leather inisde.
Why on earth would he donate them? This is a Ford problem, not an owner problem. Let the dealer sort it out. I wouldn't bother breaking a sweat over this if it were my truck

I hope this is a spoof. If this is real, cancel your orders now. This is Mexican quality at its finest like the paint drip that was at the bottom of my passenger rear door.

.
Cancel you orders now? LOLOLOL Over react much? While I agree that this is a terrible and annoying error, ONE truck with this is hardly enough reason to wash your hands of a vehicle. Having been in the business most of my adult life, this is not the worst thing I have seen come from the factory.

Apparently matching seats is now a constraint...

I see two failures. One person that put the seat in & another person in quality control that let it go by.
Or, the software/build sheet was screwed up; the person installing the seat put in what the ticket said to put in... (Probably shaking his/her head while doing it.)

There's *lots* of places in a complicated factory process for stuff like this to happen, and it's often not the guy installing the parts that is at fault. My wife used to work at GM in plant systems like this and she had a lot of stories of software/inventory screwups that resulted in stuff like this.

Bet the guy who gets the Lariat with the XLT back seats is gonna be pi$$ed!!
I wish this happens to me I have a 115lb pit bull that is definitely going to be rough on my back seats. But watch it be the other way around. I can't wait to see get the front lariat seats on their XLT lol.

I put black seat covers on the front and back on day 1. Honestly, sometimes I forget that they are actually gray underneath.

The bright side is this might be considered a "rare" build and be worth more $$$. Maybe even a collector's item.

I think this was purposely done to get all the attention is has. However, if I could have ordered a Lariat with cloth seats versus pleather - I would have - instead of an XLT.
