So dealer called today, said my request to add FX4 to my Black Package Lariat is a conflict, gave me the photo below and told me to pick:

question for the class: what does the fx4 offer that I'd be losing out - BAP is pretty crucial for me but since the truck already has the 4kTow and Lariat tech features, idk what all the FX4 would really add besides two hooks??

If BAP is crucial to you, you answered your own question, get BAP instead of FX4. Not loosing much on FX4 compared to 4K Tow.

Mainly AT tires (17" vs 18"), tow hooks and skid plates. Not exactly sure what "performance suspension" means to the Maverick. Maybe a small lift?

Appreciate your response - looks like yeah FX4 is the more cost-effective option on actual upgrades whereas BAP is literally only appearance - important given I'm probably gonna hate the interior brown but the tow hooks, skid plates seem worth the loss. I've seen that the fx4 has "more ground clearance" but not sure of specifics

That's what I thought, a small lift from the factory. And yes, BAP is cosmetics only, FX4 is actual upgrades.

If the reason for BAP is only the seats, then NOT worth it. You can get Katzkin covers or something similar.

always a million permutations - dealer was pushing a for a decision ASAP so I appreciate y'all jumping in here so quick would've loved more Tremore-esque profile like that approach angle bumper but whaddayagonnado. Told the dealer to slap on fx4, I'll black it out old school

Absolutely true! But you loose on the 4K tow. Tremors can only tow up to 2000lbs and have reduced payload capacity

busted, I missed that though how many have ordered the 4K just in case? Dropping the 4K is a down payment on the Tremor

I would go with the Fx4. You can always add BAP aftermarket. Fx4 is more difficult to do that. There are companies that make some very nice seat covers.

IMO, the interior of the Lariat is a lot nicer than the pictures show.

Yes, FX4 and BAP are mutually exclusive. As noted, Tremor gets some of the BAP touches, but is incompatible with 4k tow, whereas FX4 requires 4k tow. Ultimately, it comes down to what your priorities are for this vehicle.

BAP + FX4 (if you could get it) would be $2,445. Tremor is $3,495.

I added almost everything in the BAP on my Lariat for a lot less. De-chromed taillights, black grille bar, black interior pieces, black seats, blacked out Ford emblem front and rear, Lariat wheels painted black. Only thing missing was the headlight treatment and there isn't much black out for them.

Was gonna say just that. Both packages you can essentially do your self. But adding bap to a fx4 you won't have to really get your hands dirty or get on a computer. Just find someone like me that lives on the same continent and has a Tremor but doesn't like the darkened bits.
