What I do is simply not close the drivers door all the way, no honk.
In the Fiesta and Focus if you hold the keyfob near the drivers door pillar when you close the door it doesn't do the double honk. You can also hold the keyfob near the upper edge of the windshield for the same effect.

Might be worth testing on the Maverick if you don't mind experimenting.

on mine when the truck is off it wont honk. I'm sure it does this to remind you to shut it off. I like this.
I was commenting on those that don't want it to honk when they get out with it running to get the mail or whatever, and the key is in their pocket.

Yes, I understand when and why it's honking, and I agree that it's not the worst feature but up here in Canada it can be a real pain in the butt.
Whenever I park outside and the car gets snowed on I'll start it up to let it warm, then go brush the snow off. Usually I just shove the door closed and it honks at me but if it's late at night or early in the morning I don't want to annoy my neighbors so I hold the keyfob next to the windshield and since the car senses the key it doesn't honk.

I'm just pointing out that, at least with the proximity key on the Lariat trucks there may be a way to get it to not honk without having to disable the function in Forscan.
Just another option that people can look into.
