Fan blowing cold air but A/C not on

On my truck, a 5 degree split from set point to outside temp the fan starts blowing cold air but the A/C or AUTO. Is not on. Set point of 72 when outside is 77. Anorher was 77 and 82. Any insight? This is a 24 XLT

24 XLT (built 3/34) - I don't have that effect. I'll start most drives with more than a 5 F spread, and it's for sure outside air temp. Which can feel cool in 100 F cab.

I do know the outside temp reading is NOT accurate, frankly neither is the interior depending on where I put my thermometer, but mostly not so wondering whey they get it from.

So it is for sure AC level cold air, just not outside air cooler than it might appear?

Defrost isn't one of the options selected either? (since that's auto-AC)

My AC has some weird variance where sometimes it just blows hard and cool no matter what. Honestly though in a Charlotte summer, I don’t care that much. There have been times where I’ve had to turn it off on long trips cause I’m freezing!

This happened the other day in my ‘23 XL Hybrid… I thought it was odd.
Definitely cold air blowing and AC was off.

I had the same happen early yesterday morning driving to work with the a/c off. Turned the A/C on, then off and that fixed it. '24 XL ecoboost.

Same here. If I don't want A/C I just hit the Upper outlets button and the other day the A/C started up after a few minutes. The A/C light was out and pressing it had no effect. Turned it off, started on Auto and the A/C button acted normally.

I'm not sure if this is related, but of course when you hit Defrost, the AC runs to take moisture out of the air. With the hybrids we have electric compressors, so it's probably easier for the computer to turn it on if it needs cooling...not sure if it would do that to cool other components and some cool air spills into the cabin (that doesn't sound right anyway)

Mine does this as well when I have the air on but AC turned off.
I have a very strong feeling that the humidity sensor is what causes this. The truck automatically compensates to avoid the windows being too foggy.

I can't say that I've experienced it myself....

But this is in the owner's manual:
Note: Under certain conditions, the air
conditioning compressor could continue to
operate after you switch air conditioning off.

That does make sense. I know that the recirculated are can turn on and off on its own as well to help heating/cooling efficiency and prevent fogging.
