Yes the pricing goes up with time. I just don't see the value for me to have an ESP while still under 3/36.Ranch, You may not be able to get the same plans after the factory warranty expires.
Check it out. depending how long that iS the pricing may be different.
Call Laura at Ziegler. That's who helped me. I actually called there to make sure this was legit . It sounded to good to be true.
Yes, many dealerships will try to sell you an outside warranty first, they have a larger profit margin on them. I have often considered it a conflict of interest for an authorized Ford dealer to offer an outside warranty when Ford has their own . To me it would be like a Ford dealer having a lot full of used Chevy's and trying to switch customers to one of them instead of buying a new Ford lol.Been thinking about getting one. Was going to purchase when I got my price protection check. But other things came up. Had a bunch of really large ash trees that had to be cut do to a pest. Heard a headlight on a Mav is like $1500. Dealer did try and sell me one but it was not a Ford Esp it was the dealers own. Will have to try and save.
Don’t know how true this is but when I bought my Maverick back in December the finance person tried to sell me an aftermarket plan. They said it was better because Ford ESP doesn’t cover digital or electronics. I passed on that offer.Yes, many dealerships will try to sell you an outside warranty first, they have a larger profit margin on them. Not true. It may cost extra though. I know lighting is an add on and they are various levels to it. What I would like to know if it's transferable to a new owner.Don’t know how true this is but when I bought my Maverick back in December the finance person tried to sell me an aftermarket plan. Anyone know if this is true?
That is absolutely NOT true. Ford offers a variety of plans however and it is true that not ALL of them cover " digital or electronics". They offer an ESP Base plan that is essentially just an extension of your 5 year/60000 mile powertrain warranty( covers engine, transmission, axle components), all the way up to what is called the ESP Premium plan which covers pretty much everything from bumper to bumper except for wear, tear, and trim type parts, this plan even covers wiring harnesses if a problem pops up from a poor solder joint, loose pin in a connector, etc. The dealership I work for actually tried to sell my son an aftermarket warranty but luckily I had told him not to buy one of them and when he heard them mention the name of the company and it was not Ford he called me and I came up from the service department and told them what he was getting lol. He got the ESP Premium with roadside 7 year/100000 coverage, and it even includes key service if a fob goes bad, and lighting and rental car coverage for up to $60 a day for up to 10 days for a covered repair to be performed if necessary.Don’t know how true this is but when I bought my Maverick back in December the finance person tried to sell me an aftermarket plan. Yes, it can be transferred to a new owner, last I knew it costs $100 to do so, and if it is not transferred to a new owner the warranty is not good( for them) as the name is listed right on the service departments online system printout which shows coverage( I copied and pasted one hereNot true. It may cost extra though. I know lighting is an add on and they are various levels to it. What I would like to know if it's transferable to a new owner.
The longer you wait the more expensive the policy will be.Cork gaskets went away a very long time ago. I'm going to wait for my 3/36 warranty to expire before buying an ESP.
But are "bulbs" different than "headlamp assemblies"?+ $70 for bulbs he said (included)
True. I may trade in my Maverick before I'm out of 3/36 and not need an ESP.The longer you wait the more expensive the policy will be.
Thank you very much.Yes, it can be transferred to a new owner, last I knew it costs $100 to do so, and if it is not transferred to a new owner the warranty is not good( for them) as the name is listed right on the service departments online system printout which shows coverage( I copied and pasted one here
. But if you sell your vehicle, you can also receive a prorated refund if there is still coverage left.![]()
Good question, I have a Lariat I understand you have to replace the whole assembly. But are "bulbs" different than "headlamp assemblies"?
