Be aware that the hybrid gas-hole is rigged to require a specific diameter nozzle to release catches on the spring loaded “door” into the tank.

Are you saying that gas can with a nozzle smaller than a gas pump wont allow you to fill the tank? Have you tried?

Haven’t tried it but I read about it in an article posted in these forums yesterday. It went into the anti-fuel theft measures Ford has taken.

Yep, I stashed the funnel and promptly forgot about it.

That is correct. I had to use the included funnel to add a can of fuel additive to the fuel tank. Any other funnel that you may have lying around will not work.

MLA, you got a cyber yellow/orange Maverick too? I liked the color a lot at first and am liking it more and more. How many cars have you had? If I counted correctly, I've had 5 cars and 7 trucks prior to the Maverick.

I've had 9 cars and 4 trucks. I just went over it in my head and it kind of startled me it was that many....though I've heard people say they've had 30 or 40. I can barely imagine that!

It was my wife who chose the Cyber Orange, actually. I had my doubts to be honest, and I tried to talk her into Cactus Gray, but she stuck to her guns and I eventually went along. Boy am I glad I didn't win her over, because I'm just loving the color now. Makes me smile every time I see it.

Yeah, I was hoping it would be more orange, but I love it. I tend to keep cars until they cost more to maintain than a monthly payment, but that doesn't take too long when you buy them 5-10 years old with 100k+ miles on them.

Interestingly, I've had 5 vehicles since 2019: the 2010 Ranger I loved that was about to become costly, the new 2019 Ranger that was too big that I got a phenomenal deal on, a used 2019 Frontier, a 2010 Toyota Camry (was going to be for my son), and the Maverick. That alone will ruin my average. Now, if I add in my wife's vehicles, I'd go from 12 to 22.

I'm hoping to keep this one 10+ years.

Has anyone considered replacing their hybrid fuel tank with one from an EB? Its a 2.7 gallon difference which could possibly take it to the 700mile a tank range.

Hybrid tank is pressurized, EcoBoost is not. No, you cannot swap them.

Sometimes we make extra work for ourselves with minimal gain. They want us to move to EVs that we'll be recharging every 2-300 miles, for God's sake. I think I can handle filling up after I've driven upwards of 700 miles on the Maverick hybrid. And yes, we are some of those people routinely hitting 6-700 miles per tankful depending on conditions.

Climate change used to be called global warming. That became to specific, so gee, the climate does change…naturally. Anyway, 600 miles per tank is fantastic. Plus as one has pointed out, it’s not good for the fuel pump to run each tank to near empty so maybe 550 per tank.

I usually refill when its 20-50 miles DTE
Has worked well so far
