I read where the 12 volt flex bed power will time out after the engine is off for 75 min. Is there a way to reset the timer for another 75 min. I hear that starting and stopping the engine will reset but I have found this does not work. Maybe the engine needs to run longer. Also there is talk that turning accessory mode on and off will do it, but that does not work either. Any suggestions?

You can set the time to whatever you want with Forscan, no other way to change it that I am aware of,

Normally just turning on the key on seems to repeat the time even without starting the engine But the time it is actually on depends on the state of charge of your battery. That may be preventing it from extending and if it is down, it may take more than a few miles to get fully recharged, not as quickly as you might expect.

Makes complete sense to have LVD on that circuit, depending on the amperage draw which can drain a battery down in a hurry.

An alternator is not a charger! It can take quite awhile to recharge with all the other demands placed on it when running.

And from what I have read, Ford limits the charging to about 80% of full charge to provide longer battery life with the side effect of not being able to use it as a power source as long.

Do you know if the 12 Volt power on is set to default from the factory for 75 minutes? It seems my lighter socket stays energized longer than the USB ports after powering off the car. I may ask when I take my car in for an oil change tomorrow if they can adjust this to its max since I do not have this Forscan tool.

Indefinite power, at least at the lighter socket, is a feature I miss from my 2012 Ford Mustang. Sometimes I have devices that need a charge up and that I would like to keep in the car to do so.

It definitely was set to 75 minutes from the factory on my '24 and I have timed my 12V ports to exactly 75 minutes. I don't know, but I don't think that varies across model year or trim. I've never heard of a dealer changing any setting of this type at the request of a customer.

So it was 75 minutes for all the 12 Volt ports, not just the cigarette lighter port? I tried charging something off my USB-C ports inside my truck yesterday and it seems like the USB ports power down far sooner than the cigarette lighter. I figure I ask the service department if this is something that can be adjusted by them, if not I will have to do some research into this "Forscan" tool? I heard about it several times but know nothing about it.

The 75 minute timeout definitely affects the bed power and lighter ports. I'm not 100% sure about the USB ports as I haven't timed those specifically. It seems like my phone doesn't charge from USB-C for 75 minutes after the ignition is turned off.

There is a wealth of information about FORScan here on the forums if you do a search.

Yeah, I get a feeling the USB ports in the cab are on a different time out, maybe they're tied in with the infotainment unit? I will be doing some research on the Forscan tool if the Ford dealership cannot adjust them but I can't say I am too enthusiastic about playing around with these setting on my own, even with instructions.
