Since all trim levels have a front-facing camera by the rearview mirror, I was wondering how difficult it would be to get proper 360-Degree Camera support on the XLT trim level (w/o CP360).
Would it be possible to enable just with FORScan, or are there additional cameras missing on the sides or something?

That camera in the windshield is for collision mitigation. You'd need a different IPMA and all the other cameras (mirrors and front grille)

Why would one need a different IPMA? If there are additional cameras, I was wondering how hard it would be to attempt something like https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...averick-hybrid-xlt-with-luxury-package.14586/

Would it perhaps be possible to get it to partially function with missing cameras?
Well I’m not for certain but there’s two variants for the IPMA, one with 360 cameras and one without. If it’s anything like I have seen in the past you either get lucky and they’re both the same with different configurations or you get unlucky and they have different hardware internally. I wouldn’t be able to tell you if it would work or not you’d genuinely have to do this through trial and error almost. Best start would be to wait for wiring diagrams for the 2025 and track it all back. I don’t see why adaptive cruise couldn’t be added at that point either.

Edit: to add some insight. Here’s the write up for an F-150 that was retrofitted with 360 cameras. You can use this to eliminate what you have versus what you need. I think it’s possible to add just a front camera as the IPMA should by default have a quad coax port regardless but definitely have never tried and I’m not sure if some are output to the APIM (dash screen)

So, if I'm interpreting this wiring diagram correctly, instead of the rear camera coax going through the IPMA, models not equipped with 360 camera simply route it directly to the APIM?

Or I could be reading it incorrectly, and it's really splitting inside the harness and routed to both. That would be much more convenient.

Does anyone know how the camera coax works, btw? Is it simply an analog image? Is the APIM simply signaling to the IPMA (over CAN) to switch to 360 or simple rearview feeds, and it sends them over that output coax?

Bump and follow up. Did you get anywhere with this?

Also wondering about getting the front facing cam onto the display for low speed tight maneuvers.

I was looking through APIM and other modules. I found a few related to camera, to enable a soft button, shortcut key, and front camera (off road).

I'm assuming shortcut key is for a hardware button on other models (i don't have it on my Lo-Bo)--maybe its on the HiBo or other models with 360 cams?

I assume the front camera (off road) is for use in the offroad mode specifically; i haven't tried to add the mode yet.

And while I enabled camera soft button, I did not see an obvious button added to my Sync4 display, yet.
