I bought a Maverick inMarch 2025, in the 4 months I've had 3 dead batteries and two warning batteries are low or will not charge. The dealership had said that there may have been an issue with the program on the AC that was reinstalled. When the battery was last tested only 80%, they did replace it.
I've noticed that at times, well after the truck has been turned off, I will see some of the dashboard lights on. I tried to hit the lock button again but they remain on. I then start the truck and turn it off again, they go out. Whenever I turn the truck off I ait and look to make sure the dashboard lights are off. But sometimes they seem to come on by themselves, I assume this has been what is causing the battery drain.
The dealership had looked at but can find the problem or solution.
Based on your article do you have any ideas? I've attached a photo of the dashboard I've taken when I noticed the lights. This picture was taken about an hour after the truck was turned off. Anyone else having this problem any ides?

Bummer. I don't have a solution except to say that it's good to be under warranty. Occasionally a dealership will have to notify Ford of an issue they can't fix and Ford will send out a team to figure it out. I hope I have no such issues with my 2025 that I should be picking up soon.

Could it be a faulty Body Control Module? I don't know, but when they go bad it seems like all sorts of flaky stuff can happen.

So did they do the AC control module upgrade?
It's an SSM for a known issue causing a parasitic drain, which it sounds like you have with an actual battery drain.

They'll have to do that first before they track down what appears to be another parasitic drain.
They seem helpful - battery replacement with still 80% - unheard of - usually posters have to get below 40%. So they are being pretty good about it.

Whatever you can figure out as to a means to make it have a problem, the better, otherwise you'll be looking at multi-day troubleshooting.

Do you turn AC off before you shut the truck off?

Are the only lights turning back on, the same ones you'd get if a door opens, or just a subset?
Maybe same ones as when you insert key in ignition, but don't turn?

Thanks for your reply. In other lights are coming on. When I see them, I try the handles, which are locked, and that does nothing. I hit the lock and unlock buttons on the fob, but nothing happens. I end up having to unlock the truck, get in, turn it on, then off. And when I relock the truck, the lights go off.

The dealership said they received a recall on the AC program that could drain the battery. They reinstalled the program.

After they replaced the battery, a week later I took it to Auto Zone and had it tested. It failed, and they said it failed the cold crank amps test. It’s now back at the dealership, trying to get it right.

Lemon law that one and let Ford deal with the issue.
