Hello,
2500 miles on a 22’ xlt eco fx4. Noticed a high pitch noise then an strong electrical burning smell. Taking it to Ford. I will report back. Anyone else?

Let us know, this is a weird combination. All I can think of is an electric motor seizing up as it could produce a high pitch noise and most certainly would smell of burning electronics.

*insert blend duct actuator jokes

At the dealership now. They are keeping it overnight. They confirmed the smell and are diagnosing it.

So, finished up at the dealership. They traced it to the optional inverter for the cab. No reason why. They need to order a new part but is weeks out. It will be disconnected and the vehicle returned to me. Will wait for new part. Will update.

I've had inverters burn up while flying. It wasn't a fun flight for sure. Glad they found the issue and good call for getting it looked at!
