Its the module for SYNC that runs the screen and comunication to Ford

Mine was the APIM module. It is slowing cooking inside. Still waiting for the part to come in. Does your sync update ? Mine is stuck on version 22200

Wow - how did they find and diagnose it? Was it because of the sync update issue?

I told them SYNC wouldnt update and had that electrical smell the first week I had it. Of course they couldnt duplicate it then. Radio started to get hard to change stations and SYNC was still on 2022 version. They hooked it up to thier diagnostics this time and it tested bad. They told me 4 days to get new one but that was a month ago,still not in yet. Still has faint burning electrical smell.
