Electrical/burning smell from vents

Hi All,

2023 Hybrid Lariat owner here, with about 1200mi so far.

I have noticed a strong electrical/burning smell coming from the vents that occurs after coming to a stop from a long freeway drive. It has to be a long freeway drive, like 1hr+ at freeway speeds, then come to a stop at an offramp and it happens immediately. Once I get going again, and fresh air flows it goes away again. All engine parameters normal, and no leaks noted. Also definitely isn’t a coolant smell, it’s more electrical.

I did a forum search and saw some highlights of others with the same or similar issue, but nothing on anything found or results. Anyone track this down yet?

Hey there. Can you send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a closer look at this odor issue.

Sure, I haven’t contacted a dealer about it yet. Waiting to see if it’s just a new truck smell and it will eventually go away, so thats why I reached out here to see if any others have had the issue. Don’t you need me to take it in to a dealer first to help?

You smell an electrical burning smell in a vehicle with multiple engine fire recalls and are on the internet for answers????? Take it to a dealer

I’m planning on calling them as soon as they open again after the Holiday. I was just curious if anyone else had the issue and what causes it and what the dealer fix was.
