I have a '25 XLT FWD hybrid with the 4-pin connector for the trailer hook-up.
I have a small trailer I typically use for hauling scrap to the recycler. Despite being a small trailer, it has electric brakes.

Can anyone steer me to a site where I can find out how to add electric brake circuitry with the round connector? In the past (like 1996), I added a receiver and an electric brake actuator, to a Dodge van but it had all of the wiring already available in the OEM harness. Pretty simple.

How about on the Maverick?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no factory wiring for a brake controller on a Non-4K Maverick. I came close to revising my flat-4 to a RV-7, using a factory 4/7 harness that has the USCAR connector, and a RV-7 (only) trailer connector for ease of installation. The 12-pin Molex connector at the vehicle-end is the same for both 4-flat and 4/7, the 4/7 has more positions used.

A bluetooth trailer brake controller like the Curt Echo only needs the +12V DC power pin (& ground), you could source that from the FlexBed connectors in the bed corners, near the tailgate. https://www.curtmfg.com/part/51180

The back-up (reverse) can be sourced from one of the taillights.

Full disclosure, this is applicable to my 2024 Lariat Tremor. No idea if the 2025 components are the same.

4 pins you have are 4 of the same wires in the 7-pin.

The fifth (usually blue) is power, variable voltage from the aftermarket brake controller of your choice.

That's all you NEED. I did that the first couple of years.

Pin 6 is only for reverse lamps on the trailer. Most trailers don't have reverse lamps. No lamps, no need for wire 6.

Pin 7 is 12v constant hot for trailer battery charging. Or trailer cabin lights, porch light, etc. if equipped. If no battery on your trailer, no need for pin 7.

In the cab you will need to tap a brake light wire. The third center brake lamp is best. Or, you can tap the brake pedal wire. (But between you and me I prefer to mess with the brake lamp, than brake pedal.). Your brake controller needs to know when your truck brakes are on. That's it.
