I only drive my Mav 1-2 times a week. But yesterday I noticed that, after driving to the store and restarting it to drive home, a notice popped up in the display asking if I wanted to return to Eco Mode. I swear I hadn’t seen it before. Is this maybe the result of a software update? I’ve always had to manually re-select Eco Mode previously. Maybe it’s a Christmas present!

Nope nothing new.
2025's have always had it. It's so quick a lot of folks miss it and the seat belt warning pops up over it.

It is pretty useless. You have to be really quick to get it before it goes away! It flashes on the screen then the seatbelt reminder comes on. Clear it, the you have another shot to get it. Ford really should just allow it to stay in eco mode! I usually forget to change it and stay in normal mode.

Normal for '25s.
As other mentioned. Seat belt minder will popup soon after and block it..
Poor UX design, seems like an after thought/legal requirement (the seat belt minder).
But even so, they could prompt the mode screen to come up AFTER the seat belt minder, and maybe change it to 30 seconds instead of the ~5 or 10s that it is currently.

I've disabled my seatbelt minder screen, so it makes the mode prompt much easier to catch.
There should still be an option to make mode changes 'default', or Remember last. But there is probably some liability reasons involved..

If it is a liability thing, it doesn't affect Toyota/Lexus. Their vehicles stay on normal or eco.

Mine doesn't go into eco anymore It shows the leaf but there is no longer any difference in mileage as before.
