I was able to load my Aventon A2 in the bed (with bed liner) and close the tailgate. Snug but works perfectly. I later added a roll-up bed cover, and everything still fits. I made a ramp with a 2 x 10, showing hanging out the back. I later added hinges to the ramp so it folds up inside the bed. I bought a single motorcycle ramp for when I need to carry a load in the bed, but it's easier to roll the bike up the ramp and tie it down. I recommend a step stool when rolling the bike up the ramp. The A2 ebike has 4-inch tires and weighs about 75 lbs. There's plenty of room for other things, but a second bike wouldn't fit.

I have a 29 Full sus MTB that I layed in the back once, tailgate down, but in the 'elevated' position by changing the cable hook point. It was pretty quick and easy, and kept the bike in the box without worry. but may try to come up with some quick strap method. to keep it standing up right and tailgate closed.. will see if my Large (long) frame will fit that way with 29s, i don't think it will..

I just hauled two Lectric XP4 750 folding ebikes in my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid they fit well so I am thinking I will modify 2 - 50 gallon totes to carry them in for added protection (saw mod on YouTube) and figure out how to keep them dry and locked to the truck but happy with the fit

Yep pencil works great for license plate blocking. I don’t think the coyote agrees as it was the last thing he saw before he got slammed into

How are you doing the bungee? What are you attaching it to? I have a road bike. (Bicycle) that I’ve been doing the same with. But instead of a bungee, I’ve just been kind of leaning at it off to the side not sure that’s the safest.

I used tie-down ratchets and that is a rope going around the seat post to keep it from falling over and centered. I used the tie-down points in the bed. Without the rope and ratchet straps it leaned to the side and a bump in the road could have damaged the bike.

I ride a bike more miles than I drive a car and have for most of the past fifty years.
This is not my favorite, but it works well. My bike needs that 4 inch diameter depression in the tailgate to fit and its the shortest race bike I have ever ridden. About $25 involved in this answer.

wrap the tie down once around a tube, when tightened it is held in place

Hey Bret - I really like the (2) XP4 750 eBikes I purchased good quality and they perform well and since both fold up the tote storage option works great for my needs now both fit in the Maverick bed and are protected against rubs and I’m still able to lock them to the tie-downs 👍 - Good Luck and Enjoy!
