Again the Mav is not a Billy goat.
Again - the Mav has zero issues going UP the 12-14% inclines. It walks right up them zero issue. The AWD simply great.

It struggles going DOWN those grades on the washboard gravel roads and no 4x4 system or lockers would provide additional traction. That’s dumb.

The Goodyears on the lariat hybrid are for efficiency and not traction. An AT tire will fare so much better.

The suspension on the level washboard and rutted out roads does not have enough travel and I stuffed wheels multiple times going 15mph. There is nothing a true 4x4 system or lockers would do here to improve the suspension travel and capability.

Sometimes you just like to comment to argue and be difficult.

.... Bye bye already not great hybrid awd MPG.
What?

What were you expecting, 50 MPG? Maybe your expectations aren't realistic, or your driving style doesn't suit the driveline but I'm averaging 40 MPG with mine and I'm stunned at the efficiency for an AWD pickup that can do actual work.

I'm driving mostly 60 MPH country roads, with some city and some highway. VERY LITTLE stop and go driving (where it would do even better) And I'm not babying it, most of the time I drive totally normal

Still rocking the stock FX4 shocks @ 30 K miles with the H/R lift springs- The ride is still good but if Bilstein is now in the game- I am in - 4KTOW-

don’t take my comment out of context. Adding larger heavier tires and a lift will torpedo mpg.

im happy you’re getting a computer calculated 40mpg in your driving.

I am averaging 32mpg on the button over 6,800 miles, hand calculated. Mixed driving and not a heavy foot. That should get me closer to 37mpg.

Are these Bilsteins to improve off-road control? The stock shocks are awful on washboard roads and potholes. I completely compress the front struts so hard on them that it turns on the wipers!
I have the same exact issue on the washboard roads. I stuffed tires on my mountain property all week long last month.

I would definitely start with a 245/65-17 wheel and tire package if that's within your budget as it's the largest 'definitely fits, never rubs' tire with stock suspension.

if you're set on keeping the 19s, I'd try something in a 245/55-19 as it's almost the same height. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...VR9WPATT&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes
255/55R18 are a “definite fit, never rubs”. It’s nearly identical diameter as the stock tires. Mounted on 18x8 rims with 35mm offset.

Uh, yeah, you can lower it with those. How do I know? I did.
