I have a 2023 XL and the material on the drivers seat wrinkles.

I don't have anything in my pockets and I weigh under 160.

Already had the fabric replaced once under warranty.

Has anyone able to pull the material tight and get it to hold?

Dealer said the mfg denied the warranty a second time. I told the dealer it's probably not the fabric, it's probably how the fabric is installed or the material under the fabric.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It’s gonna take a new foam base.

Or, if you are now out of warranty, an upholstery shop might be able to reshape the seat bottom by adding extra foam Had to do this years ago with a Lincoln Town Car that had bolsters on the front seat that folded a little too much. It is important to do this before the fabric is damaged. In my 2008 Escape, the driver's seat bottom was completely replaced due to irregular wear. The match of the factory leather was not as good as what I had done with the Lincoln.

If you have heated seats it might be the heating element. I'm curious if they replaced just the pad or the element as well.

It's an XL.... no heated seat.

Based on the picture, it looks like the cover and the cushion are all one piece, so there would be nothing else to replace? Correct?

Without heated seats there should only be a foam cushion and the cover.

The foam cushion and the cover are one piece or two pieces?

Just wondering if it was possible they replaced only the cover?

From the picture it looks like they are one combined piece.

Yes the foam cushion is separate from the lower cloth seat cover, which snaps around the seat frame as well as having hog rings to hold the cent portion of the cover in place.

Well that makes sense... the foam has always felt flimsy and was showing wear after several thousand miles. They should have replaced the foam originally, instead of replacing the cover. Explains why after a week with the new cover it looked just like the old cover.

Yes I know that when you replace let's say cloth seat covers with cat skin leather seat covers it's highly recommended to use steam to restore the shape of the foam cushion before installing the leather covers. Dealer probably didn't deem it necessary or want to go through the extra expense or parts of also replacing the foam cushion.

Here's a pretty good diagram. Yes I know the cover that's in the diagram is an ActiveX cover. This is just an example
Number 1. is the cover.
Number 2. is the cushion.
Two separate part numbers. Two separate items

I have also seen some Automotive upholsterers spray the foam with upholstery adhesive to hold the material in place.
