You do have it, right after slippery, right before sport. I turned sport on today running some errands. As Mel Gibson said in we Were Soldiers " It's getting pretty sporty down here, sir! "
24 EcoBoost FX4, no Eco or sport mode, had truck for a year now, all checked out! I know my truck. Now FORscan would be a different story but don’t have access to it. šŸ¤”

Even if I had ā€˜Eco’ mode on my 24 EcoBoost, I would not use it! I bought the turbo for a reason. šŸ˜‰ My wife has a Honda and keeps it on ā€˜the green leaf’ but it makes no difference, except powerless, she has a 2.0 litre also and is very impressed with my 2.0 ā€˜turbo’!
You do have eco, my 24 eco has Eco, we Ecoboosters all have Eco.
When I add throttle economically while in Eco mode I feel the hesitation, feels like I’m on 3 cylinders only, Oh wait ! Does a cylinder shut down ?
It feels that enemic !
ECO mode sucks period. :XD

I never know when or when not to believe you, being on here and reading your posts for the last year. 🤪 I have normal, sand, mud/ruts, slippery, tow/haul. No sport or eco(leaf) mode! Other than pussyfoot the go pedal. šŸ˜‰

I wouldn't have an issue with the Auto-Stop if I knew it wasn't causing additional ware on my engine.
I thought every body knew that engine start up is the highest of wear conditions.

I figure all starters have a finite number of starts.

We’ve already covered the turbo.

Yes, I don't like "auto start" either. It's more ware and tear on the whole starting system. My concern is mainly for the battery - of all the starting system components, the battery will get replaced several times before the starter motor. Here in the Florida heat batteries don't last as long as the do in cooler climates. I have had 2 cars that we bought new that had to have batteries replaced after only 2 years or less (under warranty).

ECO Mode - I don't bother with it. In my driving situations I do a lot of coasting as long as it doesn't annoy the drivers behind me. The way some people drive it's like, "I'll race you to the sext stop light".
With the LOBO, I have to keep light throttle to keep it from down shifting too early while coasting.

I have been accused of over-thinking things but being an engineer - I can't help it.

Oh I knew about it for some time, long before the Maverick existed. I remember when GM introduced the technology 20 years ago with their BAS (Belt-Alternator Starter) and how that disappeared. I never looked into it but I assume it wasn't popular and/or it caused reliability issues.

It's sad how CAFE standards are forcing companies like Ford to introduce features like the auto start system which cost more money, reduce reliability and are not liked by the customer...

Well, there are other ways Ford could meet the CAFE standards, such as making lighter vehicles with smaller, more-efficient engines, but Ford (and probably every other manufacturer) chose auto stop/start.

TBF, I am not a fan of the government regulations around cars and they should be letting the consumer chose the best means of transportation for their needs. For example, I am a big fan of smaller displacement Diesel engines (2.0L 4 cylinder and 3.0L 6 cylinder Diesels) and we can't get them thanks to government agencies like the EPA because of "muh NOx emissions". Then when we get a Diesel engine it cost a lot more, it gets less fuel efficiency and its a lot less reliable.

Don't even get me started on the whole "Malaise Era" of cars, thanks again to the governments meddling.

I am also sure they could make vehicles lighter but it would be much more expensive to do so, even the Maverick is only 200-300 pounds more than my Fusion sedan which is quite impressive IMO and the 2.0L EcoBoost gives you a good balance between fuel economy and power. I personally don't trust the long term reliability of sub 2.0L engines, especially in Turbocharged form.

Making a significantly lighter vehicle meet current safety (crash) standards is expensive. And smaller efficient engines are slow. Are you willing to pay $50K for a lighter Maverick that takes 10 seconds to get to 60 mph, and can't haul or tow much?

No, I save all that money by turning off auto stop/start every time I start the vehicle. I think that's actually a great compromise.

lol.... that's exactly right, and why OEM's use it, along with a defeat button. They get the credits, you get the vehicle you want. 🤠

We should be able to lock our drive preferences in permanently without forscan.
We should be able to turn off all that big brother, mothering shit.

Gotta wait a whole minute for the seat belt screen to go away or hit another OK button.
Really ?

Some owners would like their Eco’s to default into Eco mode, some in sport.
We the people should have full control of our vehicle in the form of user definable locked in settings.

I suggest you purchase from a manufacturer that allows you to do that.

They don’t exist, lawyers see to that.
