Here are a couple of updates on my Trucklette Parmigiana. I wanted to do some paint protection before the winter arrives in earnest. I’ve been reading about ceramic coating but I don’t have the guts (or attention to detail) to go with the full blown coating which lasts 7ish years.. I decided to try the Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating Spray. It’s a dialed down 2 year version. I’ll post the clip in comments from the mfg if you have interest. The most important aspect is prep. You need to get the car clean and free from water spots, etc as this stuff will lock in all imperfections. What I like about this stuff is you can coat the glass, and plastics etc all at the same time. I’m please with the result for sure.

Also, at 1500 miles, I performed my first oil change ( I know, for some of you it’s overkill, but to each his own). For the non FX4 version, it is super easy. There are 14 or so T27 Torx bolts holding a bottom tray in place that you need to remove to access the filter and oil pan. The plug is a 15mm. The filter is right there with easy access. I went with a Royal Purple oil filter (#10-2835). For oil, I’m using Amsoil 5w30 full synthetic.

Looks pretty nice. I'd like to do ceramic but don't really want to bother with all the prep required for the high end stuff. This looks pretty good.

ETA is this the regular or "advanced" stuff?

I have received several quotes for ceramic but price is high. I may give this product a try!

Exactly. I gave her a good cleaning the night before. Then before the coating I used the spray detailer and microfiber to ensure I had no water marks. The whole process of doing the actual coating was 45 min to an hour. I’m hopeful it will last the advertised 2 years, but being a realist, who knows….

Well, it looks like it would be easy to maintain. Just wash the car, spray and buff again. You should be able to get away with a "quickie" polish the second time around. As long as it lasts a few months all is well.

I like a lot of the Adams stuff. I’m about to give my truck it’s first hand wash w some Adams soap, then dry with their h2o gloss & guard!

Quick follow up on my ceramic coating. We had rain overnight and the beading action looks good. On the paint, the glass and plastic. Now to see what kind of longevity this stuff provides. One huge plus is being able to apply this to every surface of the car. Just makes it so easy.

Thanks for posting the photos. They look great. The side 3/4 rear view really shows how well the stuff works. Thanks for posting the video as well. I was leaning toward a different graphene spray, but now will look at Adams.

One question. Can I use the Adams Graphene on Ford's vinyl tonneau cover? TIA.

Cheers. I used it on my hard cover which does have the rubber strips at the seams. I also
wiped the tires as I applied to the wheels and everything looks and worked fine. I have to believe it would be ok on the soft cover. You might want to researc ha bit more to be 100% sure.

🤔💡So what did you name "Her" after spending all night with "Her"?
