Does Warranty Cover Rusted Out Muffler?

Other than some patina, my exhaust looks fine through a full winter and the tail end of another. And not like they're shy about using salt around here. So I don't think '22s necessarily have "bad exhausts" other than some people getting all flustered over the ferritic stainless steel exhausts use still being able to surface rust.

I think it was just the ones at the very start. The videos on the very first ones showed heavy rust on NEW Mavs muffler and pipes .

On a Ford, the muffler is the last thing I'd worry about. I had an older Ranger for a decade. Expensive brake job. New shocks. A gazillion other things. But it still had the original muffler. In salty New England.

If it does blow out, my college trick should work find. I just cut open a soup can and taped it over the damaged muffler with heat resistant tape (1978 Renault Le Car - now that you had to worry about the muffler).

Hey my 2023 looks good to. I am going by videos of a few mavericks I saw on youtube with heavy rust on the muffler and pipes when they were almost brand new. It sounds like it might have been a temporary issue,. I still painted mine with high temp paint.

I saw a few posts about mufflers rusting through and what some were doing to mitigate the problem. I'm guessing warranty would not cover the muffler replacement if it has a blowout while still under warranty. Right or no?

Correction: after looking for posts about rusted out muffler, I now think it was "concerns" about the muffler rusting out and not reports of rusted mufflers.

Ford covers defects in quality and workmanship for base warranty of 36/36

I just hit my 1 year anniversary this month and 21,000 miles. The truck went back to the dealer 1 time for a software update and that is it besides on my last oil change I looked at the muffler. This looks pretty bad to me. I am pretty sure this is not going to last another 80K like my Ranger muffler did.
