Technically the answer to your question is yes, but not specifically, no. Hopefully I’m answering your question right and not being redundant.Yeah that's what I figured. But you're saying with wireless Carplay you're able to charge your phone wirelessly, right?
Carplay is just the “screen mirroring” like Android Auto does. It’s just Apple’s version. The wireless charging is MagSafe, and it’s separate from CarPlay. It just allows for magnetic wireless charging without damaging the phone. I still had to buy a separate Bluetooth dongle for CarPlay in order to use it wirelessly. But yes, I am able to charge wirelessly and transmit the data to CarPlay at the same time.
Initially when I got the iPhone I thought I could use a MagSafe charger like a USB cable and that the MagSafe charger would allow for CarPlay recognition but it’s not possible because the charger doesn’t transmit data. Thus, in order to achieve full wireless integration I needed both devices.
