Interesting. Most likely will work in Nebraska. Up here, not so much. :)
I've seen 16 foot drifts in Nebraska.
That's 5 meters for some folks.

Not often, but winds on a tree-less plain will do that.

Built a similar snow plow on the back of an IH Scout many years ago. Biggest difference is having 2 braces from the outer ends of the plow to the ends of the bumper to eliminate the twisting effect of uneven loads. Used a piece an steel angle on the bottom for a cutting edge. Worked well on a paved area with up to 8-10" of snow but couldn't push large amounts more than 30-40'.

I notice the OP has a hybrid, and plans to use this in reverse. That means the OP is only using the electric motor, the ice doesn't provide power in reverse. I hope the driveway is flat, and they only ever get dry snow.

Naw. No problemo being hybrid.

It's 100% about amount of traction.

Did he ever get to try this. I have no need for this as I have a plow truck to use.
But I love seeing this stuff tried.

Only had one snow big enough to try it in here in Nebraska, but it worked! Cleared the driveway and street in front of the house.

Successfully turned 6 inches of snow into about a quarter inch of ice, but will get better at it if I get to practice more haha
