After getting my Maverick, I purchased the Cargoloc Truck Bed Cargo Bar at Walmart for about $28. It works great for my needs, but I was looking for a simple way to keep smaller items from sliding side-to-side. I know the Outimate cargo bar, for example, comes with a divider, but I wanted to see if I could DIY something. I had a piece of ½ inch PVC pipe laying around and realized it might snap on to the cargo bar if I cut out a section. I purchased a t-fitting and cut out a section with a hacksaw. (The cutout is about 1½ inches measured on the arc.) I got lucky as it fit well on the first try. It snaps on the bar and has a great friction fit, but is pretty easy to slide side-to-side and remove. I then glued the t-fitting onto the end of a piece of pipe I cut to 12 inches long. I glued a cap on the other end of the pipe. I painted it silver as that’s what I had on hand. It’s certainly not the strongest thing in the world, but it easily keeps most items in place. If I was doing it again, I would put a wooden dowel inside the pipe to make it stiffer. I imagine there are lots of ways to modify and improve this design. I look forward to seeing some of your ideas here.
