Is there anyway to disable the panic alarm button on the remote key. I can't tell you how many times it has gone off.

Remove the button from inside the FOB. There are a couple posts about it. I did mine that way. You just open the fob up, remove the board, cut a small slit in the silicon, remove the clicker, put everything back together. You can reseal the silicon protector if you want. FOB looks normal, but the button doesn't press anything on the board.

I know the frustration. As many vehicles as I've had with it, the Maverick is the only one that would set off if I looked at it wrong. My Escape had the same damn FOB and it never went off.

I found the battery. How do you get to the board? I have done it on my other car. Is there a short video?

When you remove that panel and the battery, make sure you remove the physical key inside (assuming yours has it) and then pry the rest apart. If I recall correctly I think I ended up just using a knife and prying at the top part where the two panels meet. It takes some force but should come off eventually. Just wiggle and keep moving spots carefully not to bend the plastic.

Thank you, I will give it a try.

I solved this by buying a leather caver for my fob. Have not set it off once since. Just search amazon for "ford maverick leather fob cover".

If the alarm is going off when the fob is in your pocket, there is an easy solution, put the fob with the buttons close to your body. I learned this with a Buick fob, and it held true with my VW Tiguan.

When you flex at the hip, the side of your pocket towards your body stretches smooth and the outside wrinkles. Its the wrinkles that push the button.
