Last spring when I was carrying some lattice I was able to temporarily disable the back-up alarm with the tailgate down. Today I had to do the same thing, and I can't seem to remember what I did to turn off the alarm. Anyone else figured it out? I can't find it in the manual.

Sorry I can't help with turning it off, but are you driving all the way home in reverse? Why would you need to turn it off?

Because when you back up with the tailgate down, the ground is close enough to the camera that the alarm is screaming.

Ok. I can't say I've done that yet and didn't know it did that.

It's a case of being in the red zone and the beeping becomes a steady tone. Maybe I found a way to turn off the camera...I just don't remember.

Is there a dash button for turning off the backup sensors? I have seen this on other trucks. maybe it is in the menu system.

Camera doesn't provide backup alert, that's from the sensors in the bumper.

On the display in the instrument cluster, when in reverse, do you get a prompt regarding the Rear Parking Aid?

In my Edge, when I put it in reverse there's a backup monitor off/on option controlled by the wheel. It can get covered by a notification you have to clear to see it (like low tire pressure warning or seat belt warning).

Don't have my Maverick yet to see if it's similar. I do get why you want to turn off sometimes. When I have something on the tow hitch it freaks out and is very distracting.
